ACTION BLOCKS, LOOKOUT & VOICE ACCESS are Android apps built for those with visual, mobile, and cognitive impairments. These innovative products allow users to control their phone using only their voice, to be their set of eyes by detecting text and objects through the camera, and can launch common actions with a single tap of the button.
For each app, we created an awareness video that introduces the product and explains both its value and usefulness. By incorporating design principles of familiarity, contrast, and focus, each video is optimized to provide an inclusive experience for those with impairments.
▼ACTION BLOCKS/
Action Blocks makes routine actions easier with customizable buttons on the Android home screen. It was so much fun to design a metaphorical, visual language to represent traditional communication systems.
▼LOOKOUT/
Lookout makes it easier for people with visual impairments to explore the physical world by using their phone's camera. We explored shape and color relationships to represent how Lookout can be used to help clarify visual distortion, and how this product can fit into everyday life.
▼VOICE ACCESS/
Voice Access allows users who have difficulty manipulating a touch screen to control their Android though voice. As with the rest of the trilogy, we aimed to push color and design to make engaging explainer videos that reflect the revolutionary technology.
